The painting major encourages students to explore contemporary issues in painting as well as traditional processes, techniques and material qualities. We have spacious, light-filled studios and a supportive approach to making, thinking and learning. We support experimentation and diverse artistic practices and believe that there are as many categories of paintings as there are artists.Visits to exhibitions, field trips and an exhibition programme enhance study in the studios.
